Despite coronavirus restrictions easing, Hong Kong’s swimming pools have yet to reopen. With public beaches still blocked off and many pools out of commission, recreational swimmers are struggling to stay fit while unable to swim outdoors.
Fortunately, some of the city’s top hotels are offering swimmers a respite from the flu. Whether you’re a hotel guest or simply looking to spend the day poolside, here are some of the best hk pools to soak up rays and enjoy sweeping views of Hong Kong.
Hotel Icon
Located in Kowloon, the rooftop pool at Hotel Icon is not only stunning but also heated. This makes it ideal for lounging with a drink from the Violet Bar nearby. The view of the harbor and skyline is nothing short of amazing, and you can also enjoy the sounds from the underwater speakers – a cool twist on the traditional poolside experience.
The only downside to this pool is that it’s not the most kid-friendly, as there are no slides and the water level ranges from ten to sixty centimeters. However, the changing rooms are spacious and well-equipped with lockers, private changing cubicles, and a child’s toilet. It’s a great place for families to spend an afternoon swimming and relaxing.
At the Pao Yue-Kong swimming complex, you’ll find a small indoor training pool and a large outdoor pool that’s suitable for lap swimmers. The facility is well-equipped with a variety of fitness equipment, and there’s even an outside deck where you can enjoy a snack from the cafe.
This luxurious hotel offers guests a rooftop infinity pool and Jacuzzi with fantastic views of the Victoria Harbour and the Kowloon skyline. The pool is also surrounded by loungers and there’s a bar and restaurant on-site. The pool isn’t huge, but it’s a great place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.
Guests at this luxury hotel are given access to the rooftop pool and Jacuzzi, along with an indoor pool, a sauna, and a steam room. The spa is one of the best in the city and provides a wide selection of massages, treatments, and facials. Guests can also book a couples massage to get some extra relaxation in during their stay.
