Hong Kong Pools
Summer in Hong Kong can be brutal, with scorching sun and insufferable humidity. Sure, you could go to one of the public pools in town and take a dip, but they tend to get crowded. What you need is a pool that’s all your own, and the good news is that Hong Kong’s hotels have got you covered. Here are a few of the best hotel swimming pools where you can enjoy some (semi) privacy, top-notch facilities and amazing views while dipping your toes in the water.
Located on the sixth floor of Rosewood Hong Kong, this luxurious pool is the perfect spot to escape from the blistering summer heat. The Asaya Pool is a stunning 25-meter infinity pool that offers unbeatable city views and a relaxing atmosphere to lounge in. And best of all, it’s only accessible to hotel guests, so book a room at the Kowloon Peak or Harbour View rooms on Klook to experience this beautiful pool for yourself!
The YMCA Bridges Street Centre Pool was the first indoor pool in the city and is quite affordable compared to other pools. It’s also home to swimming lessons, making it a great choice for kids. The pool is located inside a historic complex and is fairly spacious for the size of the city.
This is a destination public pool where you can swim and relax all day, and it’s a favourite of families with young children. There are a number of waterslides, fountains and other things to keep kids entertained and busy. Plus, it’s only a short walk from the MTR, so it’s easy to get to.
Another incredibly popular public pool is the Hammer Hill Pool, which has a unique Roman-inspired design that makes you feel like you’re on holiday away from it all. The glistening waters are perfect for a leisurely swim or a few laps, and you can also soak up the incredible city views from its outdoor jacuzzi.
When it comes to public pools, all of the city’s 22 are managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. And while they’re a little on the pricey side, it’s important to remember that if you’re disabled or above 60 or full-time students, you can get discounted rates. You can find the list of pools and their fees on the LCSD’s website here.
